Cookie Policy
Version of 21 October 2026
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. micamic only uses strictly necessary cookies, without which you couldn't log in or keep your chosen settings. There are no analytics, advertising or other optional cookies, so we don't show a consent banner.
1. Which cookies we set
- mc_session — keeps you logged in. Set when you log in or sign up; it holds a random session key (our database stores only its hash). Page scripts can't read it (HttpOnly) and it is sent only over HTTPS. Lifetime: 30 days or until you log out.
- mc_locale — your interface language (ru, ro or en). Set when you switch the language, save settings or open a site page in one of the languages (/ru, /ro, /en addresses). Lifetime: 1 year.
- mc_theme — the dark colour theme. Set only if you choose the dark theme in settings; the site is light by default. Lifetime: 1 year.
- mc_fav — a guest's favourite “Looking for a home” listings: the addresses of listings you marked with a heart. Page scripts can't read it (HttpOnly). Lifetime: 1 year; when you sign in, favourites move to your account and the cookie is deleted.
- mc_oauth — Google sign-in. Set for 10 minutes only when you press “Continue with Google”; it holds one-time check values that protect the sign-in from tampering. Page scripts can't read it and it is deleted right after sign-in.
All of these are first-party cookies, sent only to our site and never used for tracking.
2. Cloudflare cookies
The site runs behind Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and bots. In some cases — for example, when checking suspicious traffic — Cloudflare may set its own technical cookies (such as __cf_bm or cf_clearance). They are needed for security, contain no account data and are not used for advertising.
3. What we don't use
We don't use analytics (Google Analytics, Yandex Metrica and the like), advertising or social media pixels, or embedded videos and widgets from other sites. Fonts are loaded from our own server. The service doesn't use the browser's local storage (localStorage).
If we ever add optional cookies, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent — with no pre-ticked boxes and with the option to say no.
4. Managing cookies
You can delete cookies or block them in your browser settings. Without mc_session you won't be able to log in; without mc_locale the site will use your browser language, and without mc_theme the light theme.
