Save the scheduleHow we calculate
- Core vaccine: distemper, parvovirus, adenovirus
- Puppies: from 6–8 weeks, three doses 3 weeks apart (a dose at 16 weeks or later completes the course), then yearly, as the Vanguard, Nobivac, Eurican and Biocan instructions say and as vets in Moldova do. WSAVA allows every 3 years and advises a booster at 26 weeks: your vet decides. Adult dogs with unknown history: one dose, then yearly.
- Leptospirosis vaccine
- Two doses 3–4 weeks apart (from 8 weeks), then yearly. If more than 18 months have passed since the last one, two doses again.
- Rabies vaccine
- First at 12 weeks (from 3 months per the Defensor 3 instructions), repeated after a year, then yearly: rabies vaccination of dogs, cats and ferrets is mandatory in Moldova (HG 174/2023) and ANSA runs it every year. The US Defensor 3 label allows every 3 years.
Parasite treatments
- Deworming
- Puppies: from 2 weeks, every 2 weeks until 8 weeks, then monthly until 6 months. Adult dogs: every 3 months. If the dog hunts, eats raw meat or lives with small children, the vet may advise monthly. Combined products count.
- Flea and tick treatment
- Fleas and ticks: from 8 weeks, all year round. How often depends on the product: tablets and spot-ons usually monthly, some tablets every 3 months, collars up to 7–8 months.
